J&J — Wedding Website

A one-page custom WordPress site for our Fawsley Hall wedding: simple guest journeys before the day (RSVP, gifts, music suggestions) and a seamless pivot to a post-wedding gallery and playlist archive.

The challenge

Create a single, guest-friendly destination that answers every practical question and captures the excitement — then convert it after the day into a living gallery and memory hub.

What we did

Built a bespoke one-page WordPress theme with clear sections (Details, About, Gallery), lightweight animations, and pre-wedding flows for RSVP, Gifts, and Music suggestions. After the wedding, we removed the forms and enabled photo uploads with moderation and a public playlist view.

The outcome

Fewer admin emails, higher RSVP/comms completion pre-event, and strong post-wedding engagement via uploads and a browsable gallery and playlist.

One-page layout with anchors
Guest journeys

One-page layout that answers every question fast

Anchored sections (‘Details’, ‘About us’, ‘Gallery’) keep visitors in flow: they land, skim the schedule and party, and jump straight to what they need. Headings mirror the likely questions — what’s happening, who’s who — and the layout stays legible at small sizes so info is never buried.
Pre-wedding forms
Before the day

Simple RSVP, gifts, and music — then retire cleanly

Pre-wedding, we exposed three clear paths: RSVP, gift info, and suggest a track. Each had short, friendly microcopy and validation to cut friction. After the big day, we removed those forms and tidied the nav so the site immediately felt like an archive, not a planning tool.

After the day

Gallery & uploads that keep memories coming

A light gallery with simple categories and an upload flow lets guests share their shots without fuss. Submissions queue for review, then appear in the right section. The playlist — built from guests’ suggestions — lives on beside the photos, turning the site into a living keepsake.
